What is Adventure Racing?

The goal of adventure racing is to reach as many checkpoints as possible within a set time-frame. It combines two or more endurance activities such running, mountain bike and paddling. Teams navigate with a map and compass and GPS devices are forbidden.

In adventure racing there is no set course and it is up to each team to determine the most efficient way to get from one checkpoint to another. It requires relying heavily on map reading skills and making hundreds of decisions about terrain, altitude, trails, safety, weather, food, water sources, pace, direction, and more!

It takes a balance of brains and strength to be successful.

What is a Rogaine?

A Rogaine is a foot travel race in which participants use a map and compass to locate checkpoints scattered through an area. There is no preset course and racers are free to choose the route that they prefer. The goal is to locate as many checkpoints as possible within the time limit or the most points if checkpoints are assigned different point values.
