You might be a little nutty to do a January trail run  in Kentucky. You never know if its going to be -20°F or sunny and 70°F.

General Information

Set in beautiful Pulaski County Park on the banks of Lake Cumberland. Trails are well kept and well marked. Expect rolling hills and adventure. Each race entry earns you a trip up finisher hill (if you know, you know).

5K

3.1 miles

Notable trails include Turpin Branch, Raven’s Run, T-Bone, Yellow Jacket, Lake View and Fish Trap. Finishing at the top of “Finisher Hill” at Shelter #2.

10K

6.2 miles

Similar to the 5K but we add a trip up a part of Heraclius to Low Line, following it all the way to the top. Returning back to the lower part of the park by High Line and following beautiful Hamby Hollow as it follows above Hamby Branch. The course rejoins the 5K at the intersection of Cliff View/Pine Grind and Yellow Jacket.

Double Up

9.3 miles

You have decided one course isn’t enough and have decided to take on both. Only catch is you must be a 59 minute finish time of the 5K to start the 10K on time. Are you game?

Logistics

What To Expect

Parking

By shelters #1/2 and the playground area. Left at the first stop sign in the park. Look for parking signs. Parking also around the bathroom area (even in no parking zones) and in open (120-128) campsites directly across from the bathrooms. DO NOT park in a campsite occupied by a camper.

Packet Pickup

Packet pickup is at Shelter #2. Left at the first stop sign in the park. Follow the yellow “Special Event” signs.

Course Markings

Course will be marked with white special event course marking flags and yellow/black signs posted at major intersections.

Fueling/Hydration

This will be a self-supported event. Pack in your water and energy needs. This is part of the adventure.

Check Points

There will be manned checkpoints along the course. If you wish to withdraw from the event, please notify race staff at any checkpoint or race HQ.
